'Robust diagnostics, surveillance must to safeguard public health'
LUCKNOW, Dec. 17 -- The 39th Foundation Day of the department of microbiology, King George's Medical University (KGMU) was celebrated on Tuesday. The day's oration was delivered by Dr Kamini Walia, head of division of descriptive studies, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.
Titled "Strengthening Antimicrobial Stewardship in India: Lessons Learned and Future Priorities", Dr Walia highlighted the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance and emphasised the importance of robust diagnostics, surveillance, stewardship, and evidence-based policy to safeguard public health, a press release shared with the media read.
