'Rising dropout rate within ITIs a serious concern'
LUCKNOW, April 23 -- The rising dropout rates within the Skill Development Mission and ITIs is giving a serious concern to the department of vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship, said minister of state (independent charge) Kapil Dev Aggarwal.
Taking serious note of this, the minister on Wednesday directed officials to identify the root causes of the issue and implement effective solutions.
he said an incentive mechanism should be developed to encourage a greater number of young people to complete their training programmes. Instructions were issued to implement regular industry visits, on-the-job training and the dual system of training on a large scale for students.
