LUCKNOW, Feb. 11 -- Regional director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) R Lakshmi Kanth Rao on Monday asserted that the RBI was monitoring revival of sick micro small & medium enterprises (MSME) units across the state.
Rao was the chief guest at the 'Financial Literacy Week' organised by the RBI. This year's theme was 'Micro Small and Medium Enterprises'. "Banks carry out this task (revival of sick MSMEs). But the RBI is regularly monitoring the work," Rao told media persons.
"We have constituted an empowered committee to look after the lending activities in the state and revival of the sick MSMEs," said Rao. He, however, pointed out that at present there was no data indicating number of sick MSMEs units in the state.
