LUCKNOW, Jan. 6 -- UP chief secretary, SP Goyal, on Monday emphasised that the remaining works under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the state should be completed expeditiously along with maintaining the prescribed standards set by the government. The fifth meeting of the Apex Committee of the State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission was held under the chairmanship of chief secretary. He laid stress on providing tap connections to schools and anganwadi centres in rural areas. "The list of remaining schools and anganwadi centres should be made available to the Mission and tap connections should be provided on priority basis," he said. The chief secretary directed officers to prioritize the completion of the schemes in priority areas identified by the central government, including flood and drought-affected areas, JE/AES-affected districts, MP Adarsh Grams, and Scheduled Caste/Tribe dominated areas....
