'Players are making the state proud in the world'
LUCKNOW, April 9 -- While addressing the launching programme of the MP Khel Mahakumbh-2026 at RDSO Stadium on Wednesday, deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak said the government is taking full care of the players. He noted that the sports budget has been doubled and stadiums are being equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and features.
Pathak said that the traditional view of games is changing, and now youth can achieve success and recognition ("become Nawab") even after playing. He stressed that sports are very important along with studies, as they not only keep our body healthy but also make the future brighter.
He said that the government encourages high-performance players.
"Players are being encouraged through other mediums besides offering government jobs. The budget for sports has also been doubled by the government. Mini Stadiums are also being constructed at the Block Level, and high-level facilities are being provided by the government at the rural level," said Pathak.htc...
