'Pathetic condition' of SRN Hospital: HC summons principal secy, medical education
PRAYAGRAJ, May 30 -- While hearing a PIL petition highlighting the "pathetic condition" of Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital, an associated hospital of Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, the Allahabad high court on Thursday termed the affidavit filed by principal secretary, medical education, U.P. an "eyewash" and directed him to appear before the court on May 30.
While directing to put up this case as fresh on May 30, Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal said, "The affidavit filed by principal secretary, medical education department, government of UP is not acceptable to the court, as it does not disclose the actions taken by officer incharge who is looking after the entire State of UP. This court requires his personal presence in the court for assisting in the matter of improvement of the medical facility throughout the state of UP wherein there are 42 State Medical Colleges".
Taking exception to the conduct of the principal secretary despite court's order dated May 23, Justice Agarwal said, "I find that the affidavit filed by Principal Secretary, Medical Education Department is only an eye wash to the directions issued by this Court. He submitted that pursuant to earlier order, action had been taken.
He also submitted that for procurement of medicines, an order had already been placed.
