Jaipur, May 23 -- A huge "mahayagna" of building modern infrastructure is going on in the country to make India developed and the nation is spending six times more money on these projects than it used to earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday, adding that such initiatives not only boost the economy but benefit every household. The PM was in Bikaner where he laid the foundation stones for and inaugurated projects worth Rs.26,000 crore, including 103 Amrit Bharat railway stations across 18 states and Union Territories. Modi underlined that infrastructure is required to make Viksit Bharat (developed India) and the government is building it at a rapid pace. "Today there is a mahayagna going on in the country to create modern infrastructure for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat. In the last 11 years, work has been done at a rapid pace to make our roads, railways and airports modern. Six times more money is being spent now on infrastructure related works than was done earlier," he said. He said crores being spent on infrastructure provided income to labourers, small traders, shop keepers, factory workers, truck and tempo owners, gravel and sand transporters, and cement companies. "Once infrastructure is created, it brings multiple benefits. Farmers can take their produce to the markets easily and at less cost, there is less wastage. when roads are good, new trains will reach there, new industries will be established and tourism will get a boost. So, money spent on infrastructure benefits every household and especially the youth," he said. The PM touched down at the Nal air force base, which Pakistan had tried to attack in response to India's Operation Sindoor. He visited the Karni Mata temple in Deshnoke and offered prayers. He then inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnoke station and flagged-off the Bikaner-Mumbai express train. Along with the Deshnoke station, Modi virtually inaugurated 102 other Amrit railway stations. The 103 Amrit Stations are situated in 86 districts of 18 states, and were developed at a cost of Rs.1,100 crore. He said the redeveloped stations integrate modern amenities with cultural heritage. "Just as the great Rajasthani art and culture will be visible at the Mandalgarh railway station in Rajasthan, the holy temple of Maa Thawewali and Madhubani painting will be depicted at the Thawe station in Bihar. You will feel the aura of Lord Ram at Orchha railway station in Madhya Pradesh. The design of Srirangam station is inspired by the temple of Lord Sriranganath Swami Ji. Dakor station of Gujarat is inspired by Ranchhodrai Ji. Tiruvannamalai station is designed according to Dravidian architecture. At Begumpet station, you will get to see the architecture of the Kakatiya Empire. This means that at every Amrit station, you will also get to see thousands of years old heritage of India," he said. He urged people to maintain the stations. "You are the owners of these stations. I urge you to keep the stations clean and ensure there is no damage to them," he said....
