'Keep RRTs active to handle any emergency situations'
Varanasi, March 27 -- UP minister for urban development and power, AK Sharma, on Thursday directed that adequate equipment must be ensured at all substations and rapid response teams (RRTs) kept active to handle any emergency situations.
During a review of the electricity department's preparations for the summer season, Sharma instructed officials to complete the ongoing underground cabling works within the stipulated timeframe. He sought detailed information on the current status of power supply, capacity augmentation, maintenance work, transformer availability, and the fault response system.
The minister placed special emphasis on replacing dilapidated wires, resolving issues related to overloading, and developing safe, permanent infrastructure-replacing temporary bamboo poles-within one month. He further stated that balanced power distribution must be ensured across both urban and rural areas to prevent unnecessary power cuts....
