LUCKNOW, Jan. 22 -- The official residence of the Uttar Pradesh governor has been renamed 'Jan Bhavan' from 'Raj Bhavan', following instructions from the Union home ministry for standardisation of governors' residences across the country. "The official residence of the governor of UP will be referred to and addressed as 'Jan Bhavan' for all official and legal purposes with immediate effect," a press release from the Governor's office stated on Wednesday. Last December, the PMO was renamed 'Seva Tirth', while 'Raj Bhavan' and 'Raj Nivas' across the country are being renamed to Lok Bhavan and Lok Nivas, respectively. Union home minister Amit Shah had described the move as a milestone in the journey to a developed India. In 2022, the central avenue from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate, along with the Central Vista lawns, was renamed 'Kartavya Path' from 'Rajpath'. htc...
