India, Sept. 7 -- Akshay Kumar is among the several artistes who have stepped up to help the people of Punjab, even as the state continues to grapple with widespread flood damage. The actor has pledged Rs.5 crore to help those affected by the floods. In a recent conversation on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra, however, the actor revealed that he "hates" the word "donation". When asked about his contributions to the ongoing relief operations, Akshay replied, "Yes, I am giving Rs.5 crore for relief material for the flood victims, but who am I to 'donate' to anyone?" He added, "I feel blessed when I get an opportunity to help. For me, it's my sewa, my very small contribution. I pray that the natural calamity that has struck my brothers and sisters in Punjab passes soon." Other celebs have also extended their support. Actor Sonu Sood launched a helpline in the state, with his team distributing essentials in flood-hit areas, and singer-actor Ammy Virk, pledged to rebuild 200 of the worst-affected houses. Meanwhile, actor Randeep Hooda oversaw the distribution of food and water in Gurdaspur and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh adopted 10 flood-affected villages, providing food and medical aid. On the work front, Akshay - who will celebrate his 58th birthday on September 9 - is set to announce his 200th film, as per a Bollywood Hungama report.htc...
