Panaji, Nov. 29 -- India is undergoing a cultural renaissance and is carrying forward its cultural identity with new resolve and renewed confidence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday, citing examples like the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi. The PM made the remarks after unveiling a 77-foot tall statue of Lord Ram in Goa's Canacona during the 550th-year celebration of the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, a mutt dedicated to the Gaud Saraswat Brahmins. "Today, India is witnessing a wonderful cultural renaissance. The restoration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the grand revival of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the expansion of Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain, all these reflect the awareness of our nation which is raising its spiritual heritage with new power," Modi said. "...All these examples show that today's India is pursuing its cultural identity with new resolutions and new confidence." The PM said that there were times when "when Goa's temples, language, cultural identity and local traditions faced grave challenges". "But these circumstances did not weaken the soul of the society, but made it stronger. The specialty of Goa is that its culture has maintained its original form with every change and has also been revived with time," he said....
