LUCKNOW, Feb. 13 -- Former champions Uttar Pradesh, who were led by Akshdeep Nath at the time, made it to the Ranji Trophy knockout stage after a long time the last season.
Good all-round performances by batsmen and bowlers were key elements in team's success.
Together, five key batsmen scored 3314 runs with 11 centuries and 13 half centuries. Five key bowlers collectively bagged 115 wickets with all-rounder and left-arm orthodox spinner Saurabh Kumar leading the table with 51 wickets.
Even this season, all the players and the support staff, including present chief coach and former India spinner Sunil Joshi, have contributed for the team.
But if one man stands out for making a difference it is Parvinder Singh, the batting coach.
