LUCKNOW, June 21 -- The department of vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship is set to launch the 'Hunar Haath' pilot project in five districts, aiming to equip individuals with skills and provide reliable services to society, thereby promoting employment, a spokesperson said. Under the scheme, selected youth will receive specialised training in services such as cooking, house cleaning, caregiving, and maintenance of household appliances. The training will be offered in both residential and non-residential formats. The scheme will be implemented in collaboration with government and private training institutes, a spokesperson said. Trained youth will be linked to a digital portal, enabling the general public to access their services directly. A detailed presentation was given by additional mission director Priya Singh in the presence of principal secretary of the department of vocational education, skill development, and entrepreneurship, Hariom. Singh said, "Through Hunar Haath, a platform of trained youth will be created to meet the domestic needs, so that qualified and skilled service providers will be easily available to the general public.
