'Hatt Teri Kismat': Vijay Tendulkar's political satire enthrals audience
LUCKNOW, Sept. 13 -- 'Hatt Teri Kismat', a political satire written by playwright Vijay Tendulkar (1928-2008) originally in Marathi, was staged by the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) at their newly built Balraj Sahni Auditorium here on Friday.
The play was directed by Ziya Khan and Shishir Singh. It revolved around a 'chief minister' (Udai Veer Singh Yadav) and a 'clerk' (Ziya Ahmad Khan). The 'CM' was known for his corrupt practices while the 'clerk' was a common man. Both of them meet each other by chance and start discussing their personality.
Their lives take a turn when the 'CM' gets to know that an angry mob is planning his assassination and he decides to swap his clothes with the common man just to save his own life. By chance, while changing their clothes, their faces also change.
The CM's party then takes the clerk to be the chief minister and reinstates him as per the high command's orders. The audience was left enthralled watching the play.htc...
