'Get your eyes tested if can't see development'
Barmer/Jalore, Dec. 18 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday took a dig at the Opposition Congress, saying that "those who cannot see development should get their eyes tested." His remarks came during a public rally in Jalore's Ahor block, where he laid foundation stones and inaugurated several development projects.
The CM reached Ahor around 2pm and announced multiple works, including the construction of roads, a college and a girls' hostel. Meanwhile, Congress workers staged a protest outside the venue.
Hitting out at Congress, CM Sharma said, "Protesting is your job, and you may continue to do so. But I repeatedly ask-if you have data, then tell us how much work you did and how much we have done. If development is not visible to you, eye check-up camps are being organised in schools.
Go there, get your eyes examined. At least then you will be able to see the development of the last two years. I cannot change your mindset, but eye problems can surely be treated."
The CM claimed that the state government had provided 92,000 appointments and not a single examination paper had been leaked in the last two years. He further said the government would soon issue another 20,000 appointments. He added that recruitment for around 156,000 posts was currently under process and more vacancies would be announced in the coming time.
During the CM visit, Congress workers gathered outside the gate of the government sports ground in Ahor to submit a memorandum to the CM regarding various demands. However, Police detained Congress leaders and several other workers.
Former Congress candidate from Ahor, Saroj Chaudhary, said the party wanted to submit a memorandum highlighting issues such as problems in moong procurement, demand for Jawai and Mahi river water for Ahor and Jalore, slow progress of road and culvert works, restoration of Sanchore as a district, and reinstatement of Raniwara municipality.
During the public meeting, Sharma announced development projects worth Rs.75.38 crore for Ahor and Jalore....
