LUCKNOW, May 2 -- Forest minister Arun K Saxena directed officials to speed up process to acquire 50-hectare land for the proposed Uttar Pradesh forestry and horticulture university in Campierganj forest division in Gorakhpur district. During a review meeting on Thursday, the minister along with senior officials of the department of forest and horticulture, reviewed a presentation on the university. Discussions were held upon getting the land, getting cabinet note issued and thereafter government order, and appointment of the first vice chancellor of the university and also, the time that might be taken in the entire process. The minister directed officials to get a timeline and work accordingly. "State government is focusing upon improving the education facility. Facilities for primary and higher education are being developed wherever it is required. The forestry university will facilitate academic and research activity in forest and horticulture," said the minister.
