'End work by July 5 for Neelkanth shrine fair'
Haridwar, June 29 -- To make preparations for the upcoming Kanwar pilgrimage fair, the deadline for completion of all works related to infrastructure and basic amenities, at the Neelkanth shrine has been set for July 5, Pauri Garhwal district magistrate Swati Bhadauria said on Saturday.

Bhadauria instructed all relevant government departments and nodal agency officials to ensure rapid completion of woek and maintain quality standards across the Neelkanth temple mela zone.
"Solar lighting installations in and around the shrine, as well as on the footpath leading to Neelkanth, are underway since kanwariyas visit the site round the clock," said Bhadauria.
"The departments concerned have been directed to ensure proper potable water supply, uninterrupted power, temporary medical posts, patchwork on the Kanwar route, thorough cleaning of the mela area and yatra path, installation of washrooms and water tankers, and robust security arrangements.
