Lucknow, Feb. 14 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath's over two-hour speech in the legislative assembly on Friday was laced with verse and wit. Attacking the Opposition, Yogi quoted a couplet by Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib, "Dhool chehre pe thi aur main aaina saaf karta raha (Dust was on my face, yet I kept cleaning the mirror)," suggesting the Opposition is blaming others for its own deep-seated failures. Commenting on a heated exchange between leader of the opposition Mata Prasad Pandey and NISHAD party chief Sanjay Nishad, the chief minister said it seems that during his visit to Siddharthnagar (the home district of Pandey), Sanjay Nishad gave a pond belonging to Pandey on contract, that's why he is furious and targeting him in the House. He also said, "Law and order in the state has improved. Even the leader of the opposition can go for tourism and pilgrimage across UP without any fear." Earlier, Pandey had attacked the state government on law and order issue. In a swipe at the Samajwadi Party, the CM said during the SP government he attended a programme in which the then education minister was invited and the then ACS, education, was also present. "When I told the ACS about the presence of the minister, he expressed ignorance and said he did not know his minister. I asked the minister why his officer did not recognize him. The minister replied that for the last six months, he is not going to his office," he said. Mentioning that the UP sports minister (Girish Chandra Yadav) belongs to Yadav community, Yogi said he can take on the challenges posed by the SP leadership (who also belong to Yadav community)....
