'Defaming nation': BJP lashes out at Gandhi
New Delhi, Oct. 3 -- The BJP on Thursday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks at a seminar in Colombia, accusing him of insulting and degrading India on foreign soil.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said: "Rahul Gandhi is abroad. It would have been better if, on the occasion of Vijayadashami, he had extended greetings to the people of the country. But instead, he chooses to speak against India. Rahul Gandhi has developed a habit of defaming the nation and questioning the freedoms enjoyed by its people, and that too while on foreign soil.
Prasad added, "He constantly makes false allegations against Prime Minister Modi, abuses him without shame, and claims abroad that there is no freedom of speech in India. Everything Rahul Gandhi says is baseless. When he is abroad, he says there is no democracy in India. While overseas, he insults India. If he continues doing this, the people of India will reject him completely; he will neither win seats nor earn public trust. He even praises China, his affection for China is well known, and never misses an opportunity to insult India. It is deeply painful to see him demean India from foreign soil without any sense of shame. On this day of Vijayadashami, I pray that India grows stronger, and may all spiritual powers and deities bless our great nation."
Posting on X a video clip of Gandhi's remarks, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, "Rahul Gandhi does it again, degrades India on foreign soil. From defaming our democracy in London, to mocking our institutions in the US, now in Colombia he spares no chance to insult Bharat globally."
Bhatia said, "This isn't dissent. It's disgrace to the fake Gandhi. You lost power. Don't lose patriotism. Criticising BJP may be your right but dare you malign Mother India for your cheap and petty politics."...
