Dehradun, Dec. 27 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam on Friday said that his name was being maligned under a conspiracy, with some people uploading and circulating unauthenticated videos. Without directly mentioning the 2019 Pauri receptionist murder case, Gautam said legal action will be taken against all such people who have maligned his image. He said he has also written to the state government to direct media organisations and social media platforms to immediately take down content that he described as false, fabricated and malicious, and to prohibit its further circulation in any form. Gautam in his 2.40-minute video message released by state BJP, stated, "In my social, religious and political life during the last 47 years, I have always believed in my moral principles, in the core principles of my party and have always respected women. Never has any issue been raised on my character till now". "Today I am very sad while coming before you all. Some anti-social people are trying to malign my image. I want to warn all such people. The way content is being uploaded and circulated on media and social media, I want an investigation into the source of all this, from where it all started. Facts and evidence should be collected from such person and they should be investigated for their authenticity," he said. Gautam said, "I am ready for everything. But all those who are spreading this false narrative, trying to malign my image, I want to warn them that all this will be investigated. I have also written a letter to Uttarakhand home secretary (Shailesh Baguali). And at the root, the person who has hatched this conspiracy, legal action will be taken against that person. I will also file a case against that person". He added, "I want to tell people, if I have done anything wrong, you come up with proof and I will take Sanyas (retirement) from my political and social life. But under a conspiracy, the way repeatedly, the girl's name is being taken, the way she is being insulted, it is the insult of all my sisters and daughters. And it is also my character assassination. All such people should be ready that I will take legal action against them". On Tuesday, state Congress president Ganesh Godiyal demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the murder of Pauri receptionist girl, alleging the involvement of a senior BJP leader and accusing the state government of shielding the accused. In a press conference in Delhi, Godiyal had cited a recently surfaced video of actress and social media influencer Urmila Sanawar, who claims to be the wife of former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore from the Jwalapur assembly segment in Haridwar. Godiyal alleged that the video links senior BJP leader Dushyant Gautam to the murder case. "The viral video of the woman who claims to be the wife of former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore and the viral audio of Rathore show the involvement of Gautam in the case", he said. In a letter to state home secretary, Gautam said he is a social and political activist with a long-standing reputation in public life and claimed that, as part of an alleged criminal conspiracy, "unscrupulous criminal elements" have created a fake and fabricated audio recording. Gautam urged the state government to direct the concerned media houses and social media platforms to immediately remove such content and prohibit its further circulation, either directly or indirectly. Responding to the video message, Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal said, "Congress wants an investigation into the whole matter. Dushyant Kumar Gautam can't on his own say that all these allegations are wrong. There should be a thorough investigation and CBI is the best agency to do that" Godiyal said Congress will continue with its statewide protest from Saturday, demanding a fair investigation into the Pauri receptionist girl murder case and strict action against all VIPs allegedly involved in the incident....
