'Collective enthusiasm similar to polls necessary for SIR'
VARANASI, Dec. 4 -- Dharampal Singh, the general secretary (organisation) of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Uttar Pradesh state unit, said that collective enthusiasm similar to elections is necessary for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. The goal of the SIR campaign should not only be to get forms filled, but to prioritise adding new voters, said Singh while addressing party workers during an interaction with booth-level workers and district and city unit office-bearers regarding SIR in Varanasi on Wednesday.
Removing the names of deceased, transferred, or bogus voters and preserving the booth-wise list is equally important, he added.
In the meeting, Singh said, "Just as we work actively and unitedly at all booths during elections, we must also engage in the SIR campaign with enthusiasm and unity."
Singh stated that this is a great opportunity to work for the party and increase eligible voters. He emphasised that SIR should not be considered solely the responsibility of the booth level agents, booth president and booth resident, but rather, it is the collective responsibility of all office-bearers, leaders, public representatives and workers across the organisation.
He directed that daily communication should be held at each booth, and the daily task determined. He also directed that the 2003 and 2025 voter lists be available at each booth. Enumeration forms for all voters should be filled out correctly and submitted to the booth level officer (BLO) on time. Repeated door-to-door visits will be necessary until all forms are submitted.
Singh also stated that members of the ideological family at the booth level should be activated in the campaign.
He said, "We are great leaders only when we know every single voter in our booth." He also stressed that Mandal presidents should have an updated list of all party workers working at each booth....
