Lucknow, Feb. 4 -- The Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak has hailed the Union Budget 2026-27 and termed it as a decisive step towards a strong and developed India. The deputy CM has also said that the budget reflects the government's long-term vision for transforming India into a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Speaking further on the Union Budget, the deputy CM said, "India's transformation into a developed nation cannot rest on consumption-driven growth or short-term measures. It must be built on a durable foundation. Budget 2026-27 continues the government's emphasis on capital expenditure, recognising infrastructure as a strategic asset. Roads, Railways, logistics networks, digital infrastru- cture and energy systems not only drive the economy but also enhance national integration, opportunity creation, resilience and strategic mobility." "A particularly significant feature of this Budget is its focus on decentralised development, with sustained investment flowing into Tier-II and Tier-III cities, border districts and aspirational regions, reflecting its proven multi- plier effects," added Brajesh Pathak. He further stated that spending on such infrastructure enhances productivity, lowers transaction costs and impr- oves competitiveness across sectors. "This balanced regional development reduces economic disparities, strengthens social cohesion and contributes directly to internal security. Budgetary support for modern infrastructure in such a region improves the operational capacity of security forces,"stated the deputy CM....
