'Bihar registered almost all waqf land on Umeed'
PATNA, Dec. 7 -- Almost all properties of Shia and Sunni waqf boards in Bihar were registered on the Centre's digital portal (UMEED), as the deadline expired on Saturday, said the state's minority welfare department secretary, Mohammed Sohail.
Officials, at the time of going to press, said that while the exact data of waqf properties registered on the UMMED portal would be known by Sunday, around 11,391 properties were registered. This is nearly 100% of the properties under the Shia and Sunni waqf boards, officials added.
Secretary Sohail added there are 307 waqf estates with 4,591 properties under the Shia waqf board, which were totally registered, while there are 2,898 waqf estates under the Sunni waqf board, which has 6,800 properties, were registered so far. "We have achieved hundred percent uploading of waqf properties on the UMEED portal within the deadline," the secretary said.
Officials of the Shia and Sunni waqf boards said most of the properties were uploaded on the UMEED portal."We have registered most of the properties under the Shia waqf board till now.
