'April revenue: UP collection up Rs 1,785cr YoY'
Lucknow, May 7 -- Finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that Uttar Pradesh collected Rs 18,204.75 crore tax revenue in April for the financial year 2025-26 against Rs 16,419.45 crore revenue collected during the same period in 2024-25.
The Uttar Pradesh government's tax collections for the financial year 2025-26 were higher by Rs 1,785.30 crore than the figures for 2024-25.
Khanna said that the state collected Rs 8,943.47 crore as GST in April 2025, whereas last year in April 2024, the collection was Rs 8,310.43 crore.
Under VAT, the revenue collection was Rs 994.52 crore in April 2025, whereas last year, during the same period, the collection was Rs 947.98 crore. Under excise, Rs 4,319.46 crore revenue was collected, whereas last year, during the same period, the collection was Rs 3,759.14 crore.
Under stamp and registration, the revenue collection was Rs 2729.43 crore whereas last year, during the same period, the collection was Rs 2249.78 crore.
The revenue collection under transport in April, 2025 was Rs 1,043.14 crore whereas last year, the collection was Rs 929.61 crore.The revenue collection from geology and mining in April 2025 was Rs 174.73 crore....
