'48 industrial units begin operations, creating over 3K jobs'
VARANASI, May 27 -- Varanasi is rapidly emerging as a major growth hub in Purvanchal, with 48 industrial projects worth Rs.1,180.95 crore now operational, creating 3,472 jobs, according to a state government communique issued on Monday.
A total of 48 projects involving an investment of Rs 1,180.95 crore from the Global Investors Summit have already commenced, generating employment for 3,472 people, stated Vinod Verma, assistant commissioner of the district industry promotion and entrepreneurship development centre, while adding that another 48 projects, worth Rs 5,702.18 crore, are set to launch soon and are expected to create around 12,110 jobs.
Verma noted that companies like Saaswad Heat Transfer, Double Tree (Hilton franchise), and Amazon's contracted warehouse with Madhavan LLP are now operational in Varanasi. Monte Carlo's OWM Logistics and Banaras Beads' Ginger Hotel project with Tata's IHCL are also underway.
Other upcoming projects include Roma Entertainment City, Arvind Limited's export unit, and BD Foods' Campa Cola facility.
A diverse range of companies from sectors such as hospitality, handloom, tourism, fabrics, wellness, IT, and education participated in the groundbreaking ceremony. While some units are already operational, others are expected to commence soon....
