Shimla, Dec. 26 -- A mourning family was left shocked when the ashes of a woman were stolen from a locker at the Chambaghat crematorium in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. The incident came to light when at 4 am when the family arrived at the crematorium to collect the ashes to be immersed in Ganges in Haridwar where they found the locker open, the ashes were missing which left the family in shock. The lock on the locker was missing, and the ashes, along with the plate and water pot, had been stolen. The family has filed a complaint with the police and demanded strict action while raising apprehension of misuse of the ashes. Police have launched an investigation based on the complaint. Officials say they are questioning nearby residents and gathering information from crematorium staff. Police are also trying to determine how the locker was opened and who removed the ashes.htc...
