Hisar, Oct. 11 -- Almost a month after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at Centre introduced hefty fines under the New Motor Vehicles Act, the saffron party candidate in Fatehabad promised to end the "challan problem" if he is elected to power.

Addressing a public meeting in Fatehabad on Wednesday night, BJP candidate Dura Ram said, "Nashe ki baat hai, education ki baat hai, ye jo motor wale apka challan kar rahe hain, ye choti-moti dikkaten, jab apka bhai-beta MLA ban jayega, ye khatam ho jayengi (Once I am made the MLA, the problem of drugs, education-related issues and the challans etc will be ended).
