Shimla, Oct. 28 -- Pressing for immediate filling of backlog vacancies reserved for the visually impaired in government departments, the members of the Himachal Pradesh Blind Persons' Association staged a protest outside the secretariat in Shimla on Monday. The association accused the state government of continuous neglect and failure to implement their employment quota despite repeated assurances. Rajesh Thakur, state general secretary of the HP Blind Persons' Association, while speaking to media, said, "We have been protesting for the last two years and four days continuously but nothing has moved on the ground. The first and foremost demand is that the government should fill the pending backlog of posts reserved for us under the quota in government jobs.
