Shimla, May 14 -- A day after a purported video showing a "dead rat" in a packet of pulses purchased from a fair price shop in Jhulan village in Hamirpur district surfaced on social media, officials of civil supplies corporation on Tuesday visited the house of the aggrieved. Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation regional manager Sanjeev Sharma, in statement issued on Tuesday, said the complainant woman has recorded her statement with them and a report of the case has been sent to state headquarters. The report recommended that a reply should be sought from National Cooperative Consumers' Federation (NCCF), Delhi, and appropriate action should be taken to ensure that there was no negligence regarding quality of food items. On Monday, a purported video was shared on social media that allegedly showed a dead rat in a packet of pulses that was purchased from the fair price shop.
