Technical glitch at IGI Airport : No major impact on flights in Jammu
Jammu, Nov. 8 -- The technical glitch at Air Traffic Control system at IGI Airport in New Delhi, had no major impact on the flights operating in and out of Jammu, said officials.
"Though 17 flights to and fro operate from Jammu on Fridays. Since departure of flights is delayed from Delhi itself, some flights were delayed in Jammu as well. We informed the passengers in time. There was an impact but the situation was not alarming or abnormal," said Jammu airport director Devendra Yadav.
A taxi driver Rinku Singh, who is stationed at the airport, said that there was no chaos at the airport and everything was normal.
"We ferried our passengers to Katra. There was no chaos at the airport. Few flights from Jammu to Srinagar and Leh were already cancelled," he said.
Senior divisional commercial manager, jammu railway division, Uchit Singhal said, "There's no impact on rail traffic originating from Jammu in the wake of air traffic disruption at Delhi."...
