Statue of former HPCM Virbhadra Singh unveiled in Rohru
Shimla, Nov. 18 -- The statue of Congress stalwart and six-time chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh, was unveiled at the Old Bus Stand, Rohru, on Monday.
This event was presided over by Himachal public works department minister Vikramaditya Singh and state Congress Committee president Pratibha Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Vikramaditya said that Virbhadra Singh's contribution to the state and the Rohru assembly constituency has been a saga of development. He said that despite all the difficulties and adverse circumstances, Raja Saheb left no stone unturned in the development of the state, a feat that is remembered by both the party and the opposition.
Speaking on the occasion, former Lok Sabha MP Pratibha Singh said that Raja Saheb used to say that he wanted to contest elections in the Rohru assembly constituency to ensure its overall development. Subsequently, he became the MLA from here five times. The PWD minister stated that under the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Rs.64 crore has been approved for 22 roads in the Rohru assembly constituency. htc...
