Spate of drug deaths: Year after, govt's big plans remain on paper
Chandigarh, Aug. 5 -- Last year, when Punjab was hit by a spate of drug overdose deaths, the Captain Amarinder Singh government had announced a slew of measures to combat the drug menace and to blunt the opposition's criticism on an issue on top of people's mind. A year later, most of these steps remain on paper owing to failure to get the Centre's approval, impracticability or bureaucratic maze....
