Shimla, Nov. 4 -- Private bus operaters in Shimla proceeded on an indefinite strike on Monday over their long pending demands. City residents, especially office goers, students had to face the brunt of the strike. Though the HRTC pressed buses on local routes to tackle the situation, but large numbers of people in suburbs like Sanjauli, Dhali, Vikasnagar, Summerhill, Kasumpti, Panthaghati, Maihali, Himland, Khalini faced inconvenience owing to longer waiting time of the buses. More than 160 private buses ply the roads of Shimla daily. Each bus on local routes makes multiple trips around the city.
