Sainik School, Nagrota, awarded Raksha Mantri trophy
Jammu, May 9 -- Sainik School, Nagrota, was awarded the Raksha Mantri Trophy-2025 for achieving the highest percentage of cadets who joined the National Defence Academy (NDA) for the 154th Course.
Minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth presented the trophy to the principal, Captain (Indian Navy) Shibu Devasia, during the All India Principals' Conference at Sainik School Kazhakootam on May 7. This marks the first time the school has received this honour in 17 years, with its last win recorded in 2009.
According to defence spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, 35 cadets from the school passed the UPSC NDA written exam, and 11 successfully cleared the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, securing all India rankings.
High-ranking performers included Ikhlaq Hassan (AIR 50), Hussain (AIR 145), and Pranav Sharma (AIR 150), followed by Aditya Kumar Singh, Prithvi Raj Sambyal, Divyansh Bhardwaj, Piyush Sharma, and Yasir Mukhtar Wani.
These cadets have now joined the academy at Khadakwasla to begin training as future officers for the army, navy, and air force, representing a significant contribution from Jammu and Kashmir.htc...
