Rs.2.65-cr assets of 3 smugglers to be attached: Kangra police
Dharamshala, May 23 -- The Kangra police have initiated the process to attach movable and immovable properties worth Rs.2,65,66,683 belonging to three drug offenders, police officials said. A team of Dharamshala police station seized 1.246-kg charas from one Sanjay Kumar of Rakkad and Suman Kumari on April 6. "During investigation, it was found that Sanjay had a history of cases, accumulating wealth illegally, including three houses valued at Rs.1,55,03,700 and four vehicles valued at Rs.4,49,916. His total property value was estimated at Rs.1,59,53,616, which is now under seizure proceedings," police said in a statement.
Officials also said that in November 2024, a team from Kangra police station apprehended Pawan Kumar of Arla Dehra and his wife Neena with 26.10-gm chitta, 241-gm gold and 1,207-gm silver jewellery and Rs.44,580 in cash. Pawan also has five previous NDPS cases against him. "The total value of his property stands at Rs.1,06,13,067 which will be attached following legal procedure," cops added.
