Jammu, Dec. 5 -- The anti-corruption bureau, on Thursday, arrested a revenue official and a watchman on the charges of bribery, said officials. The accused were identified as Ganderab Singh, Patwari, posted at Thalora in Majalta tehsil of Udhampur and watchman Kuldeep Kumar for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant. Anti corruption bureau, Jammu has registered a case FIR No. 03/2025 under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and section 61(2) BNS, 2023 against Patwari Ganderab Singh and watchman Kuldeep Kumar for demanding and accepting illegal gratification from the complainant. "The accused public servant, demanded the bribe amounting to Rs.10,000 from the complainant for correction of his name in the revenue record. Since, the complainant didn't want to pay bribe and approached ACB for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law, we conducted a discreet verification and found the allegations truce. Subsequently, a trap was laid the duo was caught red handed in the presence of independent witnesses," said an official spokesperson.
