Properties of two drug peddlersattached in Rajouri, Udhampur
Jammu, April 18 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday attached a property worth more than Rs.55 lakh belonging to two alleged drug peddlers in Rajouri and Jammu district, said officials.
In Rajouri, police attached a single-storey residential house worth Rs.43.13 lakh of Sourab Kumar from Muradpur, an accused named in multiple FIRs registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at different police stations across Rajouri.
In another drive, property worth Rs.12 Lakhs of notorious drug peddler Rakesh Kumar of Bishnah in Jammu district was attached.
"The attached property included a Honda City car (bearing a fake registration number) which was found to have been purchased from the proceeds of illicit narcotics trade. The attachment has been carried out in connection with FIR under sectios 8/15 NDPS Act registered at Rehambal police station in Udhampur district," he said.
During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said vehicle through money earned from drug trafficking.
Both the properties were attached under the Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, said a police spokesperson. Further investigation is underway....
