Over 98% J&K students clear Class 10, 95 get through Class 12
Srinagar, May 14 -- Jammu and Kashmir logged 98.19 and 94.75 pass percentages in the Class 10 and 12 results, respectively, declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday.
According to the results, 13.543 of the 13,792 students who sat for Class 10 exams passed.
In class 12, 8,727 out of 9,211 students who appeared for the examinations passed.
Girls outperformed boys with 98.71 pass percentage as compared to 97.79% in Class 10.
Girls edged past boys in Class 12 as well, logging a pass percentage of 96.38 against 93.34.
Out of 26,675 secondary schools under CBSE across the country, only 160 are in J&K, the exams for which were held at 54 centres. Only 121 higher secondary schools follow the CBSE pattern in J&K. Most schools in J&K follow the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) pattern....
