Jammu, Jan. 9 -- Security forces intensified their searches to trackdown a group of three Jaish terrorists in Billawar tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Thursday. A security personnel had sustained a minor injury in the initial gun-fight with the terrorists on Wednesday. Officials said that the security forces intensified their searches on Thursday in Kahog village of Billawar tehsil. "Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police, the army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are conducting searches in the jungles near the village. However, there was no fresh contact with the terrorists since initial gun fight on Wednesday evening," said a police officer. "With first light, security forces launched searches in Parole-Kamadh Nallah forest belt. Additional forces have been rushed to the area, and drones are also being used to locate the terrorists," said the officer. A multi-layered security grid involving village defence guards (VDGs) has also been put on high alert in view of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
