Dharamshala, June 6 -- Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, alleging that the "troublesome" government is nearing two and a half years in power but has only brought chaos to the state. While addressing mediapersons in Shimla, Thakur claimed that there is no sense of stability in the Congress-led government. "The head of the government is focused solely on saving his chair and is merely passing time instead of governing the state," he said. Thakur claimed that law and order has collapsed across Himachal, citing the recent Vimal Negi case as evidence. "The entire state wants to know how Vimal Negi died, but the Chief Minister remains silent. We believe that the government's functioning style is a major factor behind Vimal Negi's death," he added.Raising questions about administrative conduct, Thakur said, "In what capacity is the SP, Shimla, approaching the HC? It appears that he is doing so under the protection of the government."He further alleged that an illegal liquor business has been operating in Kala Amb for the past two years, with a factory supplying illicit liquor to both Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. He also criticised the imposition of fees in government hospitals. htc...
