SHIMLA, Aug. 1 -- A day after a handful of ruling party legislators skipped the Bharatiya Janata Party's legislative party meet convened to felicitate the newly inducted ministers in the Jai Ram Thakur-led government, newly appointed party president Suresh Kashyap denied a rift in the party.

Party president Suresh Kashyap said, "There is no rift in the party. The few legislators who could not make it to the meeting had intimated the party ahead of the meeting."

Jawalamukhi legislator Ramesh Dhawala, Jubbal- Kotkhai MLA Narender Bragta and former party chief Rajeev Bindal had skipped the meeting .

Both Dhawala and Bragta were vying for the cabinet berth while Bindal is reportedly upset over the ministerial berth going to Sukhram Chaudhary...
