Jammu, May 29 -- The ministry of home affairs has decided to hold second civil defence exercise "Operation Shield" in all the districts of states/UTS, adjoining Western border of the country. Acting on these directions, mock drills will be conducted at five border districts of Jammu region on Thursday as per Centre's directives, said officials. "The mock drills will be conducted in five border districts of Jammu region, viz, Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch. The deputy commissioners of these five districts have been directed to ensure these drills," said a senior home department official. He informed that J&K civil defence, home guards and SDRF will be primarily conducting these mock drills while roping NCC, NSC, NYK and Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers.
