Srinagar, Nov. 9 -- A train running on Baramulla Banihal trek was halted after an eagle struck its engine room and shattered the windscreen and landed inside the cabin of the loco pilot, which left the train pilot with minor injuries. A train bearing number 74626 (Baramulla-Banihal service) was hit by an eagle in south Kashmir on Saturday morning that broke the windshield resulting minor injuries to pilot, said officials on Saturday. The pilot was taken to hospital where he was administered first aid. The train was stopped and detailed inspection was carried out by team of expert engineers before it was allowed to continue its journey. Railway spokesman Ragvendra Singh confirmed the bird hit. "Yes there was a bird hit but no major injury was caused," he said adding that all precautionary measures were followed and the passenger safety continues to be the foremost priority of the railways.htc...
