Kashmir shivers in sub-zero temp
Srinagar, Nov. 24 -- Kashmir shivered during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday as temperatures fell below zero degree Celsius across the valley.
The cold has intensified across the valley as clear skies during the day prompt the temperatures to fall below zero during the night. The residents witnessed their vehicles covered with frost in the mornings as fog covered various parts of the region.
The meteorological centre in Srinagar said that the summer capital recorded a low of - 2.8 degree Celsius while it was zero degrees in the ski resort of Gulmarg.
Pahalgam and Konibal in south Kashmir, both recorded -3.5degC, while it was -4.7 degrees in Shopian. The mercury plunged in Pulwama as well with temperatures at -4.4degC while Bandipora recorded -3.2degC.
Weather monitoring stations in north Kashmir recorded equally cold temps. Kupwara witnessed a minimum of -2.6degC.
The Jammu division experienced relatively better weather with the city temp at 10.1degC.
Kishtwar recorded 4.2degC, Batote 4.5degC, Bhaderwah 0.5degC, and Banihal -0.5degC. Katra recorded 9.8degC and Kathua9.2degC....
