Jammu, June 1 -- A suspended government schoolteacher, named in 10 FIRs for fraud, was remanded to judicial custody on Saturday, officials said. The accused has been identified as Jameel Anjum of Ustad Mohalla in Jammu city. "The crime branch had arrested him after a case was registered on the complainant of Rashid Manhas of Gujjar Nagar, Jammu. The complainant had alleged that the accused person duped him of Rs.10 lakh cash and gold worth Rs.5 lakh on the pretext of providing government jobs to him and his sister," said an official spokesperson. The accused prepared fake appointment orders and provided the same to the complainant and his sister, he said. A special investigation team (SIT) constituted by SSP Benam Tosh is conducting a detailed probe to unearth the whole racket, the spokesperson added....
