Jammu, May 12 -- The younger brother of slain Kathua youth succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS, Vijaypur, on Monday morning, said officials. "Nikhil Singh, younger brother of Nakul Singh, succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS Vijaypur this morning,"said Kathua senior superintendent of police (SSP) Mohita Sharma. The incident is of May 7. Both the victims--Nakul,18 and his minor brother Nikhil,16--were beaten up by accused Parth Verma alias Sumit, 19, over a girl in their house at ward number 10 of Kathua, police had said. While Nakul died on the spot, critically injured Nikhil was kept on ventilator. The police had registered a case and started a probe. A few friends of Nakul were detained and one of them--Parth-- confessed to the crime. According to the police, Parth allegedly killed Nakul following an altercation over a love rivalry. Nikhil reportedly entered the house during the assault and was attacked by the accused in an alleged attempt to eliminate any eyewitness. The crime came to light after their mother, who is a PHE employee, returned home around 5 pm on the fateful day and found her sons lying drenched in blood inside the house....
