India mustn't let guard down, says Capt Bana Singh
Jammu, May 8 -- Captain Bana Singh (retd), one of the three living Param Vir Chakra winners, on Wednesday, said India must remain alert and fully prepared for Pakistan's retaliation to New Delhi's midnight precision strikes on nine terror camps inside Pakistan and PoK.
"A rogue country, which has raised and nurtured terrorists and which is bereft of any rationale thinking can retaliate and we must remain prepared," he said.
He said, "India has given some reply, but it was a small response and not a big one. India tried to convey to Pakistan to stay away from orchestrating terror attacks in J&K, but it didn't refrain and compelled India to conduct precision strikes."
Captain Bana Singh, 77, hails from Kadyal village in RS Pura sector of Jammu district.

When asked about civilians being targeted in Poonch, the former DGP said, "Since Pakistan does not have the guts to hit back at the army, it is targeting innocent civilians. We have hit their terror camps and no civilian population was touched."
Retired defence officers lauded the strikes at terror camps in Pakistan, calling it the "most apt" response to Pahalgam attack.
Former Vice Chief of Indian Army Lt General Vijay Oberoi, who lost his right leg in the India-Pakistan war of 1965, said the strikes will go a long way in establishing India as a strong power. "It's very good that India's power is being felt by the Pakistanis. Our country has suffered terror attacks and earlier, we used to be persuaded by the US and Western powers to exercise restraint. This was neither good for the nation, nor for the armed forces," he said.
Sunil Lanba, former chief of naval staff, said the government has taken the right action.
"By striking Pakistan, they have set the precedent that if they (Pakistan) indulge in terrorism, our response is loud and clear," he said....
