Srinagar, June 28 -- The police arrested three persons and booked them under Public Safety Act (PSA) in north Kashmir's Sopore town for allegedly using encrypted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) platforms and VPN networks to maintain contact with terrorist handlers across the border, officials said on Friday. A police spokesperson said their activities were prejudicial to the security and sovereignty of the Union Territory. A person can be arrested and jailed upto two years under the PSA without a trial. The men have been identified as Irfan Mohiuddin Dar, a resident of Sangrampora Sopore, Mohd Asif Khan, a resident of Harwan Bomai and Gowhar Maqbool Rather of Hardushiva. "Despite being previously booked in multiple FIRs under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and facing repeated preventive actions, the trio continued to operate using encrypted VOIP platforms and VPN networks to maintain contact with terrorist handlers across the border," the official said....
