In Dehra, CM Sukhu inaugurates Rs.233-crore projects on Day 2
Dharamshala, June 5 -- Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 12 development projects worth Rs.233.55 crore for Dehra assembly constituency of Kangra district on the second consecutive day. The CM performed the opening ceremony of the circle office of Jal Shakti Vibhag, Dehra. He also dedicated the building of superintending engineer, operation circle, HP State Electricity Board Limited, Dehra, which will serve the population of about five lakh. He also inaugurated Rs.7.26-crore administrative-cum-academic block of Government Degree College, Dhaliara, and Rs.1.75-crore bridge over Narad khad on Sunhet Bassi road in Gram Panchayat, Bada.
He also unveiled the statue of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan at Dehra bypass, completed with an outlay of Rs.10 lakh. The CM said he respected all sections of society. "The state government is committed to ensuring all round development, welfare and upliftment of all the sections of the society without any discrimination," he said.
Sukhu also laid foundation stones of Rs.38-crore circuit house building, critical care unit/block at the Dehra civil hospital costing Rs.26.82 crore, combined office building in Dehra that is to be completed with an outlay of Rs.99 crore, forest rest house that will cost exchequer Rs.4.73 crore, a bridge over Dehi khad on Sunhet to Bassi road costing Rs.4.12 crore, a bridge over Dhaliara khad on Sunhet to Bassi road to be completed with an outlay of Rs.8.77 crore and a water treatment plants related to 24 water supply schemes with UV and gaseous chlorination in Dehra area at the cost of Rs.43 crore.
CM Sukhu honoured the top-performing village forest management societies (VFMS) from Kangra and Chamba districts under the KFW-funded project during a programme in Dehra of Kangra district.
For the year 2021-22, the state-level first prize carrying Rs.1 lakh was awarded to the the VFMS, Lagdu, of Dehra forest division, the second prize (Rs.60,000) went to the VFMS, Chambhar, of Dalhousie forest division and the third prize (Rs.40,000) was presented to the VFMS, Bhated, of Dehra forest division.
For the year 2022-23, Bhated, Jaini Masroor-2 and Lagdu, all from the Dehra forest division, bagged the top three positions, respectively. Similarly, for 2023-24, Jaini Masroor-2, Bhatth and the Lagdu were the top three rankers.
At the Dehra forest division level, the 2021-22 awards included Rs.50,000 to Lagdu (Khudian range), Rs.30,000 to Bhated (Nagrota Surian range) and Rs.20,000 to Naushera (Dehra range).
For 2022-23, Rs.50,000 was awarded to Bhated VFMS (Nagrota Surian), Rs.30,000 to Jaini Masroor-2 VFMS (Nagrota Surian) and Rs.20,000 to Baldoa VFMS (Nagrota Surian). In 2023-24, the top three division-level prizes were awarded to Jaini Masroor-2, Baldoa and Bhated, all from Nagrota Surian range, respectively.
The chief minister also saidthat 307 forest development committees from Kangra and Chamba districts were actively engaged in planning, implementing and monitoring activities under this project.
He said that forest conservation was not only essential for climate protection, but also directly linked to increase in catchment areas of waterbodies, prevention of soil erosion, biodiversity protection and means of livelihood.
CM Sukhu virtually inaugurated an integrated command, control and crime response centre (ICCC) located at the superintendent of police (SP) office in Dharamshala under the Smart City Mission.
Under this project, 229 CCTV cameras have been installed at prominent places in the city, out of which seven sites have been installed under the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS).
This system will be helpful in better implementation of traffic management, surveillance, public safety and law and order, officials said.
This state-of-the-art centre has been established at a cost of Rs.2.72 crore. "This centre is an important step towards strengthening urban governance and other civic services in the city. This centre will act as a central system for monitoring, coordination and rapid response management, ensuring public service delivery and urban security. It is planned that in the near future, all the cameras installed in Kangra will be monitored at one focal point through this server," police officials said....
