IMD issues yellow alert for thunderstorm in 4 HP dists for today
Dharamshala, May 6 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts for May 6 even as rainfall will continue in the high and mid-hill regions of Himachal Pradesh till May 7.
Dry weather is expected in the plains from May 6 to 9, says the IMD.
However, showers are likely to return across the state from May 10, as a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region.
Below normal maximum temperatures continued in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. Una was the hottest in the state at 34.6 degrees Celsius, which was 2.8 degrees below normal. Shimla, Bhuntar, Kalpa, Dharamshala, Nahan, Manali and Mandi recorded below normal maximum temperatures.
The weather office said light to moderate rainfall was recorded at many places in the state over the past 24 hours. On Tuesday, showers continued in parts of the state, including Shimla, Dharamshala and Kullu....
